Meet Emme McCumiskey!
Emme is a third-year student pursuing majors in ecology and environmental resource science, minors in wildlife sciences and environmental geology, and certificates in sustainability and water resources.
She serves as lead campus compost intern with the Office of Sustainability and loves riding the trike and teaching people about compost.
Last year, McCumiskey and collaborators received a grant for the CHaRM x UGA project, which is an on-campus satellite center for hard-to-recycle materials that students can access anytime the Miller Learning Center is open. This project helped broaden her understanding of waste streams, and she is excited to see how it evolves.
Over the summer, she participated in UGA’s Interdisciplinary Field Program (IFP), visiting 23 states and 28 different national parks and monuments. She currently serves as vice president for the IFPeople club, and she aims to grow the program even more.
