University of Georgia undergraduate Zachary Holmes, an ecology and biology double-major from Atlanta, has received one of five John J. Scarano Memorial Scholarships for 2013. The $1,000 scholarships, awarded annually by the Georgia Chapter of the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals, recognize outstanding students in environmental, health and safety related fields studying at Georgia universities.
