Savannah River Ecology Laboratory education program specialist and Odum School of Ecology graduate faculty member Kimberly Andrews and Odum graduate student Greg Skupien appear in an episode of “Off the Map,” a new series on the Great American Country TV network. For air dates, see http://www.gactv.com/gac/shows_gcsnh/.
“Off the Map” follows hosts Shannen Doherty and Holly Marie Combs as they travel throughout the Southeast. Their visit to Georgia includes a stop at the Jekyll Island Authority Georgia Sea Turtle Center, where Andrews is research coordinator and Skupien studies American alligators. During their visit, they learned about the Center’s research and conservation efforts and helped Andrews and Skupien measure, tag, and release a young alligator back into the wild.
“I’m hoping they deliver the hearty conservation message that we worked to instill,” said Andrews.
